The terms of participation in the Haifa Marathon races. Registration constitutes acceptance of the terms.
Participation in the races is permitted to registrants who train regularly, are under medical supervision, and are healthy and fit for running and/or swimming and/or cycling and/or triathlon and/or any other sport. Registrants who do not meet these conditions are barred from taking part. Any deviation from these guidelines is the sole and full responsibility of the participant.
I hereby declare that all race organisers and those responsible for it are released from any liability for property and equipment I bring to the race, and that I waive any claim, argument and/or demand against the race organisers or any other body connected to the race for any damage to or loss of equipment or property in my possession.
During the race, Shvoong provides medical cover in accordance with the guidelines of Magen David Adom (MDA) and/or the event's medical director. It is clarified that participants who require evacuation to hospital are responsible for paying MDA for the evacuation and the hospital if necessary.
Registrants who did not collect their race kit due to non-attendance and did not cancel their registration may collect the kit up to 7 business days after the race, at the Shvoong offices only.
Registration for the race is personal and may not be transferred to another person.
A participant whose registration details are incorrect may be disqualified, their result will not count, and they will have no claim and/or demand in this matter against the organisers.
It is the responsibility of every registrant who participates in the race and appears on the participant list to collect their race kit up to fifteen minutes before their start.
Participants are required to run with the bib number on the front of the body. Participants who do not attach the bib number to the front of the shirt will not be allowed into the start/finish areas and will even be removed from the running courses for reasons of security, safety and insurance.
Please note - the distribution of trophies, medals and prizes to winners takes place on race day at the closing ceremony only; there is no later distribution.
The participant's year of birth determines their age.
Determination of winners and prizes - the winners in the various races listed on the race site will be determined according to the criterion set in the IAAF rules, namely: by "gun time" and not by "chip time". Fast runners with the potential to place in one of the top positions in their race are therefore advised to line up in the front row of the start line. The results of the winners in the age categories will be measured by "chip time", and they will be entitled to trophies/medals as detailed on the race site.
Timing is for the competitive races only and is carried out using a single-use electronic chip.
Appeals against results or rulings relating to the race will be accepted at the race site only and up to half an hour before the closing ceremony (results or rulings may not be appealed thereafter).
It is strictly forbidden to take part in the event with dogs or any other animal (leashed, with or without a lead).
Safety regulations prohibit running with headphones during the competition.
Safety regulations prohibit running with a baby stroller during the competition.
Runners may not be accompanied on foot, by bicycle or by any other vehicle (except organisers' vehicles). Runners accompanied by runners who are not registered participants, cyclists or other vehicles will be disqualified.
The organisers and the race director may disqualify runners who act unsportingly or contrary to the guidelines and/or the terms, or who endanger themselves or other athletes. Such runners will not be refunded their participation fee.
